Happy Dad's Day

Hey crafty friends....  Playing along today at Operation Write Home...with a rendition of their Sketch.

I made this while I was at the cottage, meaning I have very little supplies there. A very old Silhouette machine (so old you have to crank the paper into the machine...but hey it still works), and some Studio G inks.

Are you loving how the cream colored card stock turned out looking like wood grain? I LOVE it!!!!!!!!
Masked off the sentiment, cut a circle and backed the whole thing with Chocolate brown card stock.
I am in love with the dog tags from the Silhouette store.
That is not twine...it is embroidery thread soaked in Glossy Accents, then curled around a pencil. Cute...huh?!?

Thanks for stamping by and make it a crafty day.....

Your card turned out lovely. No one would be able to tell you had limited supplies. You worked wonder with what you had. I love the wood grain and also the way your sentiment came out.

What a great card! Sounds as if you had a fun time at the cottage. I LOVE that trick with the embroidery thread!!! I still have every color DMC ever made from decades of counted cross-stitching; I'm going to have to try it.

I love the card, and you even craft at the cottage, that is dedication! I love the dog tags which are so appropriate for the soldiers. And the glossy accents trick sounds fun. I have to look up glossy accents...
