Wonderful Mother

Because I have THE best mother in the world, I wanted to make her an extra special card for Mother's Day. I just know there is a special mom, sister, aunt, grandmother in your life that would appreciate a card you fashioned especially for them.
Get out your Cricut and some cardstock, and get ready to make a pot of flowers in no time.

Let’s Make a Card…

1) Cut heavy white card stock 9 x 3 1/2, score at 3 1/2 and 7 inches. Fold at the 7”score line and cut at an angle from the score line to 1/2” in at the bottom. Cut the other side the same. Fold down the small scored section. (It should now look like a flower pot). Edge punch the “rim” of the flower pot, distress ink, add twine and attach “rim” to pot with foam adhesive.
2) Cut white card stock 4 1/2 x 2 1/2, round corners. Cut a piece of maroon card stock just a bit smaller and attach. Stamp and heat emboss sentiment. Slide this into the top of the pot.
3) Cut a 1/4 inch strip from  heavy card stock, color with Silver gel pen. Stamp, heat emboss, distress ink and fussy cut the sentiment. Attach to the “floral card holder”and glue to insert.
4) Cut all different size flowers ( 1/2 inch to 1 inch) from white card stock and patterned paper with the Walk in My Garden cartridge. Color the white flowers with Copic markers. Dry emboss the back of all the flowers to give them a rounded/wrinkled look. Now attach the flowers to the top of the rim and the insert.
5) Die cut Spellbinders Flower Creations  2 times. Spray these flowers with Copic r22 mixed with alcohol, roll each piece into a ball, carefully unroll and heat set. Now glue all the pieces together in the center, starting with the largest piece first and gluing the smaller pieces on top. With embossing tool firmly press the center of the flower so the sides roll up a bit. Place a large dollop of glue in the center and along the petals, sprinkle with glitter. Attach this flower to the rim.
6) Stamp, color and fussy cut butterfly 2 times. Attach 2 butterfly's together with foam adhesive, then attach to the flowers.
7) Add liquid pearls and stickles as desired to give it a finished touch.

Happy Easter

Happy April Fools Day!

ScrapbookPal recently selected five new members as part of their Design Team and I am so honored to be a part of this elite group. You will want to check out this fantastic online scrapbook store for their low prices and FREE SHIPPING on orders over $25...how great is that?!?

Though I know Easter is just around the corner, I wanted to share this card with you in hopes that you will challenge yourself to make one for someone very special.

Let’s Make a Card…..
1) Using Cricut, cut one oval at 6'” and two ovals at 5 1/2”, and three 1” circles. (For this card I used the Cricut Craft Room Basics …..I just love the Craft Room!!!) Cut largest oval in half, edge punch flat side. Spritz large and one small oval with Copic refill ink mixed with alcohol. Attach two halves of large oval with an eyelet.
2) Make stripes for outside of card using thin strips of card stock that have been inked and glued next to each other on a thin piece of paper, trim all edges. (this is also a great way to use scraps of card stock/patterned paper) Attach to card front. “Color” the circles with liquid pearls, let dry and attach to card front. Trim all edges as needed.

3) Attach smaller oval to backside of card front only on the lower edge (leave the center unglued). Stamp bunny on small scrap of white card stock, color, fussy cut and slide into opening of card or use a gift card.

4) With the last small oval, stamp image, color and add sentiment. Score a small section at top of this piece and attach to the card base.
5) Make flower from Poinsettia die, dry emboss the back of each petal, distress petal edges with ink, glue all petals together, poke the center with embossing tool and attach faux pearl to center. Attach small loops made from twine into flower. Attach to card front. Add Stickles and/or Liquid Pearls as desired.
