Graduating Sally

Hello my friends....

This week at Sassy Cheryl's, the challenge is about "School Days". The greatest part of school is graduating...don't you think?
When my boys graduated from school, I got both of them the Dr. Seuss book "Oh the Places you'll go" (this book is so appropriate for anyone starting a new venture in life). I found this sentiment in the Silhouette Store and thought it would go perfect with my graduating Sally.

Still learning how to use Spectrum Noir markers...little bit of a learning curve from Copics...but a lot more affordable...we'll see how it goes.

Ok..no laughing about the tassel...the ribbon is so tiny, I couldn't get the loops to all go in the same direction...so ...poopitz!!

I have also entered this card into the Sketch challenge #192 at Operation Write Home.

Each Friday I will give a shout out to all new Followers (click on Follower Button on the right side) and if you have a blog, I will make a link to you also.

tis the Season

Fa la la la la....

How gorgeous is this wreath?!? It is part of the Penny Black Christmas Harmony set and I love all the things you can do with it. I stamped it with Versafine Deep Lagoon (still my favorite ink of all time), then stamped a second "bow", colored and coated with Glossy Accents. My beloved Liquid Pearls in three colors on some of the "berries".
The two fishtail panels were masked with Penny Black Dots die cut and then applied Modeling Paste...so loving this technique. One was inked and the other left white.

Panel behind the wreath is the new Penny Black cling Decadence.
Sentiment is from the Penny Black Season's Wishes stamp set.

This card is entered into the Sketch Challenge #191 at Operation Write Home

COUNT your Blessings

Hello friends...

The house is quiet, and I just had to play along with the Reverse Confetti challenge this week. I am in LOVE with this stamp company...not a bad one in the bunch!

Using Authentique papers from Be(you)tiful, Autumn & Grace, I cut small strips, then rolled them and tucked them under the focal point of the card.

I die cut Air Vent from Simon Says Stamp, as well as the panel for the sentiment.

Stamped and heat embossed one of the sentiments in the Count your Rainbows stamp set.
Tied a little Lawn Fawn and Jute for the finishing touch.
(Now that I am posting this on the blog, I am thinking I forgot my beloved Liquid Pearls...what?!?)

This card is also entered into the Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp:
Use an exclusive product from SSS
and lastly...
Entered into the Trigger Tuesday challenge at MoxieFab using this picture as inspiration:

Magic of the Season

Hello my friends.....

It is Friday and time to get the weekend started.
Now that I have received my Happy Mail from Penny Black, expect to see Christmas cards galore on this blog....(let's all sing) It's the most wonderful time of the year!

My good friend Judy and I swapped die cuts this week and I LOVE the Tagged die from Penny Black, so I had to use it today.

Main card was stamped with Decadence using Memento Bamboo Leaves & Pistachio.
After cutting the tag, I stamped and heat embossed with clear powder using the Christmas Reds & Greens stamp. Inked with Memento New Sprout, Pistachio & Bamboo Leaves...also added a swipe of Lady Bug. Then I threw water on the tag to get those wonderful spots I love.

Sentiment is from the Yuletide Greetings set.

This card is entered into the ANYTHING GOES challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Happy Trails

Howdy friends...

Isn't she just the cutest little lady?
Playing along today at Spectrum Noir challenge. The challenge this month is to make a card with some kind of "travel". I am thinking she won't get to where she is going too fast on that kind of horse, but Happy Trails to her anyway.
Cute little lady is a Tiddlyinks image (also playing at their challenge "Goodbye" )  that has been die cut with Stitched Mats by Lil Inkers. The sentiment is from the Back in the Saddle set by Waltzingmouse.

Jute was added as well as flower embellishment.

This is my first time playing at Spectrum so I am listing the markers I used on her:

Hat/Boots: GB1, GB2, GB5
Hair:  TN2, TN5, TN7
Skin:  FS1, FS2, FS8
Skirt:  TB2, TB3, TB5
Horse: IG1, IG2, EB1, GB10

And since ANYTHING GOES at Simon Says Stamp this week, I have entered the card there also.

I have embossed the main panel with the sentiment (Merry Christmas edge by Darice), and added Navy card stock strips along the sides.
The pink Poinsettia is Warm Wishes by Penny Black. Stamped and fussy cut two times.

Blessings

Happy Saturday my peeps...

I have been spending a little time with my grandsons, but when they are sleeping I am in the studio.

I am still wishing for Fall by making cards with that theme, but it is not working...still in the 90's here with no relief in sight.

I masked off two areas of white card stock and did a little inking over Letter Background that I had stamped with Watermark ink....I just love how this technique leaves just a hint of the script writing showing through.
Stamped Field of Poppies in Black then stamped again on a scrap and fussy cut the weed/wheat/whatever that thing is.

The sentiment is from the Tree-mendous set.

There is still time to get your projects in for the Color Combo Challenge at Penny Black...you have until September 27th....there are PRIZES!!!!

Click the banner for all the info:

Hoping you are having a wonderful weekend.

Happy Friday!!!

I am playing along again at CASology and Reverse Confetti with this card as I already had the Silhouette plugged in, so I made two cards..one from yesterday and this one :).

The cue word this week at CASology is:

I cut the card front with the Arrows and it is popped up with foam adhesive. Behind the Arrow openings I have stamped a piece of cream card stock with Paisley Outline by Penny Black.

The sentiment from the Arrows & Elements set by Reverse Confetti was stamped and heat embossed.

The adorable colored and fussy cut leaves are the Leaf Corner stamp from Sweet Stamps...just too cute for any Fall card.

Card was then adhered to an Olive Green mat and sequins added. The shiny dot on the ribbon is actually a piece of Candi that started out silver, but I painted it with OPI nail polish....LOVE!!

EDITED TO ADD: I have also entered this card at CardMaker Challenge Corner...It has Eleven elements on the card...woohoo!!

It is Friday and I would like to recognize all the new followers of this blog. Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments and questions I received this week.

Count your Rainbows

Hello my friends...

Have you seen the new challenge at CASology?

The cue word this week is:

I am thinking Arrows are this years Chevrons...you see them everywhere in the card making world.

This card is also entered into the challenge at Reverse Confetti...LOVE their stamps!

On my card, I cut the large arrow with my Silhouette, then adhered strips of colored card stock to it. I love doing this technique as it uses up all those little scraps of paper we all save.
Sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on the Arrow embellishment. I stamped the rest of the sentiment two times on the card front, so it has a bit of shadow.

The dot on the top of the bow is actually a silver Candi (I don't know why I bought silver ones, I have yet to use them)....and I painted it with OPI nail polish. I LOVE how it turned out...so shiny!

Let's go Shopping:
White & Colored card stock
Stamp: Count your Rainbows (Reverse Confetti)
Inks: Memento Rose Bud & Versamark Deep Lagoon (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko)
Yellow Ribbon (Michaels)
Candi - Silver (Craft Work Cards)
OPI Nail Polish - I'm Not Really a Waitress

Game. Set. Match.

Hello my friends....

Is it Friday yet?  Only half way through the week and I am ready for the weekend.
I have been card making up a storm trying to finish DT work, submissions, Blog Hops...too much fun!

I ran across this blog...A Blog Named Hero and decided I have a few Hero Arts stamps, so why not play along. The challenge this week is:

I can do that...in fact after I made the first card, I whipped the other two cards out in no time.
I arranged the hexagon stamps on one block so I could stamp them all at once. Easy Peasy!

This card is also entered into the Wednesday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp
Use something from the Simon Store on your project.

All items used on this card are available at SSS with the exception of the Deep Lagoon ink.

I used Hero Arts Stamps: Hexagons, Brush Strokes & Guest Check (pattern on Butterfly).
Memento Inks Grape & Bamboo Leaves, Versafine Ink Deep Lagoon (my favorite of all time).
Flutters die by Penny Black

Hello my people...

The lesson this month at Operation Write Home Boot Camp is all about White Space.
I find it hard to leave a lot of it in my card making, so each week I try to do a Clean and Simple card.
White Space does not always have to be white, it can be any color. The point is to make a card with little embellishments and not over do the stamping, paper piecing, etc.

With that in mind, I have entered this card into the challenge at OWH along with the challenge at Reverse Confetti...it is their stamp set Arrows 'n Elements after all, that I used on this card.

I also added the large "U" by cutting it with my Silhouette three times and stacking them to get a little more height. I first stamped the tiny heart thinking I would have to fussy cut it, but discovered that my tiny heart punch from Micheal's was a perfect match...I love when that happens.

Die-Versions Blog Hop

Selected as a Favorite of the Week at Split Coast Stampers.

Welcome to the Die-Versions Blog Hop.

You should have arrived here from Mary's blog , but you can always go back to the beginning here, if there is a broken link.

I absolutely love this Edge die "Believe". So much so, that I cut it four times in an ombre effect. The Jingle Bell is just the right size for card makers, and I really like how you can color it, stamp it or just leave it plain. The silver cord I added here is from Kreinik (you will find it in the sewing section of your local craft/sewing store).

I used Blue glitter glue and Silver Liquid Pearls on the bell also.
(You know I can't hardly make a card without my Liquid Pearls).

Of all the zillions of stamps I have, nowhere to be found was the little bit of sentiment I wanted to go with the Believe die, so I made it with my Silhouette software.

I hope you are enjoying yourself today. Don't forget to leave a comment on each stop of the hop to be entered into the drawing for the $50 gift certificate to be used at Die-Versions.

Your next stop is:

It's a Circus

Hey friends....

I am like a kid in a candy store when I get a new toy..Yayness!!!

I found this stamp at Michaels in the cheapy bin (whoop whoop) and my Big Ticket embossing folder just arrived, so of course I had to make something.

I have used the new Sketch #190 at Operation Write Home as my starting point.

Then I hopped over to Color Throw Down to see what the color combo was this week...and whoop whoop, yes that will work.

So, I ended up with a card that qualifies for two challenges (I love when that happens).

Buttons and Tent were cut with Silhouette Cameo

Let's go Shopping:
Kraft, Rust, White, Chocolate & Sage card stock (Michaels)
Stamp: Three Ring Circus (Michaels)
Versafine Onyx Black ink, Memento Rich Cocoa (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko)
Ticket embossing folder (Darice)
Jute
Silhouette Cameo
Liquid Pearls: White Opal & Peacock (Ranger)
Glossy Accents
