Year in Review

Another year is about to end and I see nothing but changes ahead for 2014.
New Design Teams, New home in Largo, New friendships to make, New chemo treatments...some I am looking forward to, some not so much.
I thought it would be fun to do a year in review of my favorite cards.

Hugs, Kisses & Welcome

Hello my friends...

Hoping your Christmas was wonderful, full of family, friends and good things to eat.
The older I get, the years seem to go faster. Is that happening to you also?

Today is my last post as a Design Team member at Die-Versions. I have used the new Amour Doily on this card and I am in LOVE with it. I then rolled it through my Grand Calibur using a PaperTrey Impression Plate.
I have had such a fun time designing for this great die cut company.

I am playing along at Reverse Confetti with their color challenge:

This is also my entry for the Design Team Submission at Inspired by Stamping using this photo as inspiration:

I spy Roses with pink, red and green.

I have recently started using embroidery thread on my creations and I love the extra texture without the added weight to the card.
I inked the bottom portion of the card with Memento Angel Pink (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko), then stamped over that with So Stripy (Reverse Confetti) using Memento Luxe Rose Bud (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko) and heat set with clear embossing powder.
Loving the juicy colors of the new Luxe inks...just sayin'

Rolled Roses are cut with my Silhouette Cameo. Sentiment is: I like You (Reverse Confetti).
Enamel dots and Heart pin (My Mind's Eye).

Hope

Let's talk about Breast Cancer.

For some of you...this is news. For others, it will be an update.
About six weeks ago, I found a lump. One month ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Two weeks ago I underwent a double mastectomy.
(Now you know why my posts and FB comments have been few and far between)

I would never put my medical conditions out there on the big world wide web, however, I think in this case, if I can help just one person, it was a post well blogged.

Yes, I know..."it can never happen to me"..............WRONG!!!

Mark your calendar, do your self breast exams MONTHLY.
 Schedule your mammogram YEARLY.

I did the monthly self exams. I just had a mammogram 4 months ago (clean as a whistle). Yet it still happened to me. Luckily (yes I count myself as lucky), I found the lump and the surgeon was able to completely remove all the cancer.
I will still have to have chemo and other treatments for the next year, but that is to fight off any lingering cancer cells that may be floating around and haven't attached to anything yet.
I can do this! I am strong!
It is better than the alternative.

Please pass this post on to every woman you know.
Email your grandmother, mom, sister, aunt, friends.
Maybe you know someone right now that is in the beginning stages of just finding out she has breast cancer...send her this post...there is Hope!

And lastly.....Leave me a comment of someone you know that could use some happy mail, as I would love to mail this card to a woman who needs a little Hope in her life right now.

Let's go Shopping:
Stamps:  Fight Like a Girl (Amuse Studio)
Die: Seasonal Sentiments (WPlus9), Butterfly (Silhouette Online Store )
Inks: Memento Luxe Rose Bud, Teal Zeal, Dandelion; Watermark (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko)
White Enamel Accents (Ranger)
Twine (The Twinery)

Christmas Greetings

Selected as a Favorite of the Week at Split Coast Stampers.

Hey friends...

We are in the countdown to Christmas and my cards are mostly finished....how about you?

As you know I love to color and tried out my new Memento markers on this Christmas Star by Penny Black.
Memento Sky Blue, Danube Blue and Nautical Blue markers worked like a dream.

White card stock was dry embossed, then a layer of Acetate clear card stock on top.
Sentiment from the Season's Wishes stamp set in Memento Nautical Blue Luxe then heat set so I didn't smear it.  :)

Photographing acetate causes lots of problems for an amateur like me. Spots, reflections...yada yada yada!
Forgive my photography skills :)

Hello my friends....

Wanted to make something really quick and simple today. Loving the Memento markers by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko and thought I would do a little scribbling.

Sentiment is Dream in Color by Reverse Confetti, stamped with Memento Luxe Danube Blue and heat set with clear embossing powder.

Easy Peasy!!!

Peace, Love & Sparkly Stuff

Hey friends...

Just received the Memento markers (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko) and of course I had to color something fast......

how fun is this little cutie by Sassy Cheryl

The markers are double ended with a brush and a fine tip and they come in all the wonderful Memento colors you already use. They are not alcohol markers but I had no problem getting them to blend on Copic Blending card stock. This image is a digi and the marker did not bleed nor did the inkjet ink smear.
Yay me!

I am kinda in love with these markers. Just sayin'

The sentiment is from the Tinsel & Trim stamp set by Reverse Confetti and it was heat set with Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Iridescent embossing powder. Round stitched die is by Lil Inkers.

White on White & Welcome

Hello and happy day my friends...

I saw the challenge over at Operation Write Home for an all white card and this is what I came up with.

The top panel has been die cut with Spellbinders Bracket Borders One, then stamped and heat embossed Christmas Wishes and the sentiment is from the Yuletide Greetings stamp set.
All stamps by Penny Black.

The bottom panel was stamped with Decadence and heat embossed.

I do believe this is one of my favorite cards.

Believe

Hello friends.....

I love how you can use the edge dies from Die-Versions just about anywhere on your card.
The way I adhered this card together actually leaves an open area on the card front.

I made this card with my sister in mind...she has the word Believe everywhere in her house.

Pretty sure the embossing folder is by Darice, but can't seem to locate it it right now. :)

I am winding down in making Christmas cards, however you are going to be seeing a few more as I finish blogging them. Whew!!!!
