Good Friend

Selected as a Favorite of the Week at Split Coast Stampers

Hello and happy day....

Have you ever seen an inspiration photo and just wanted to copy it literally?

Playing in the Pin Sights challenge at Ellen Hutsons with this photo inspiration:

I couldn't help myself by making this 6 opening frame with my Silhouette and filling each opening with something different from the inspiration photo.

White wood grain designer paper, a piece of lace for the wedding dress, Vertigo for the glass frame, circles & dots in pink and purple, roses on a wood table and a sentiment.
It was so fun making this card!!!!!

Wood grain under the flowers is stenciled with Creative Medium Bronze. Sentiment is stamped with StazOn onto Vellum.

Can I be my own best friend and keep this one?!?

Aqua Fairytale

Hey there.....

What did we do before the Misti was invented? I purchased mine several months ago and I started noticing some cracking around the edges of the acrylic. Noooooo...I love this little tool, can't imagine my stamping life without it anymore. I contacted the wonderful Iliana at Sweet Petunia, sent her a couple of pictures inquiring if this was normal. She shipped me a new one immediately.
Now that my friends is customer service!

I made this card with a couple of challenges in mind.

CASology is looking for a STORY.

Fusion Card Challenge is Sketch, Color or BOTH.

Audrey Blue card stock was embossed. Sentiment was stamped then die cut. All edges were inked with Versamark, then heat set with White embossing powder.
A little washi tape, a little designer paper and three small roses finish the card.
I just loved the little paisleys on the photo so much, I just had to reproduce them for my card.
Cute!

Christmas Sparkle

Hidey ho....

I am playing in a Christmas card challenge each week so I can have a small stash of cards before December.

Merry Monday is looking for Newsprint on a Christmas card. Actually, this was quite fun as I just received a tissue paper roll by Tim Holtz and it had a small print on it. (Don't have any stamps that fit that bill, and I don't receive a newspaper, so this worked out quite well).

I am also playing along in the Throwback Thursday challenge at W Plus 9 using this card as my guide:

Ok, so I pretty much only used the curved edge.  :)

Along with the curved edge, I die cut two of the ornaments completely from the Newsprint. I also die cut a small part of the top ornament from the same tissue paper.
"Sparkle" was die cut three times, stacked then spritzed with Sheer Shimmer Frost as was the top portion of the card front.

Wanting to tie the word Sparkle into a Christmas card, I ended up using a couple of stamps from Papertrey Ink to make my complete greeting.  :)

Challenges Entered:
W Plus 9  -  ThrowBack Thursday
Merry Monday  -  Newsprint

Let's go Shopping:
W Plus 9:  Sparkle & Shine trio die

Artful Flowers

Hello, hello...

Playing with new goodies today. It seems all the stamp companies are coming out with a "build a flower" and this one can be done a couple of ways.
You can stamp the main image of the flower then stamp the details of flower directly on top.
OR
You can stamp them like I did above for a more "artsy" look.
I love it!!!

Playing today in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, where they are looking for a Thank You project.

I watercolored the background with several shades of blue.
Main flower was stamped and heat embossed with White. Detailed flower was stamped and heat embossed with Gold, as was the sentiment.
Edges of card front were dragged along a Delicata Golden Glitz ink pad.

Challenges Entered:
City Crafter  -  Sequins
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday  -  Anything Goes

Happy Medicare

Hi there....

Playing along today in the Avery Elle challenge:

Spring to me means flowers. Not having many Avery Elle flowers to choose from (woe is me) I decided to go with one of my favorite techniques. On a large sentiment....make one of the letters an image.

I have a recipient in mind for this card, I will just have to personalize it a little before popping it in the mail.  :)

For those not in the United States...you get Medicare (Health coverage) when you reach age 65

OWH Memorial Day Blog Hop

Happy Memorial Day weekend....

The Design Team over at Words 2 Scrap By wanted to honor our brave men and women, so we are participating in the Memorial Day Blog Hop at Operation Write Home.

You can see what the rest of the team came up with by clicking on the banner below:

The theme is Red, White and Blue and I chose to use Sketch #254 from OWH for my card.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to make the red & white "stripes".
My favorite doily was die cut, then I made a Rosette from Navy blue card stock and cut in half.

Small strips of silver, gold, and stripes were placed beneath the Rosette.
Sentiment was stamped with StazOn Cotton White onto Vellum.

Many thanks for stamping by today...

Many thanks to our Heros who never returned home.
Because of you, we still live in the Land of the Free.

Thanks

Hidey ho....

Playing along at Paper Smooches, yet this card will then go to a special someone who supported me in the Relay for Life walk that I took a couple of weeks ago.

It's Anything Goes at Paper Smooches this week...YAY!

I love this embossing folder by Darice. It is not just specific to Breast Cancer, so you could decorate it in any color or style according to your recipient.

I stamped the butterfly in Memento Angel Pink, then using a stencil I eBrushed it with a Copic marker. Butterfly was spritzed with Sheer Shimmer Sparkle and ribbon was tucked behind it.
Using the Misti made it super easy to stamp this sentiment with two different stamps.

XOXO & hugs

Hello, hello....

Playing with my eBrush today and decided to join a couple of challenges.

With a stencil and a few markers, using the eBrush is sooooo easy!
I even have an attachment where I can use liquids in my eBrush (instead of markers), so I can use reinkers, paint, food coloring, etc.

Today I went for an ombre effect , a large die cut and this one is just easy peasy!

I added irRESISTible Pico Shimmer to the large sentiment for a little something, something!

The adorable XOXO was die cut and adhered to the main sentiment. Too cute!!!
