July Challenge at Calling All Sistahs

Hi there.....

Every month on the 18th you will find me spreading inspiration for

Do you know someone with Breast Cancer?
Chances are you will know someone in your lifetime as this dreaded disease attacks 1 in 8 women.
It attacked me...and I won!

This is a challenge for you to participate in where the card you design is for someone who needs a little pick me up snail mail. It doesn't have to be someone with Breast Cancer...just someone who is battling an illness.

I can tell you that I had a wonderful support system of friends that sent cards and little gifts while I was going through my many, many, many treatments.
Nothing better than receiving snail mail!!!

On my card above I used the following stamps from Cas-ual Friday's:

The color challenge this month is:

I spy with my little eye...primary colors!

Please join us over at Calling All Sistahs for this months challenge.
Prizes are involved and you feel like a million bucks for making someone in your life a very special card when they most need it!

Calling All Sistahs with Cas-ual Friday's

Hello, hello...

It is the 17th of the month and that means a reminder from me to you to
check the SISTAHS!!!

Each month the designers at Calling All Sistahs bring you loads of inspiration for cardmaking and a heartfelt message to take care of yourself.

Let me start by telling you that I am a Breast Cancer SURVIVOR.

I found the lump on my breast because my momma taught me to check myself monthly.
I had one smart momma!!!

Because she drilled that one act a month into my head....it saved my life!

I had a double Mastectomy, 6 rounds of chemo and a year of Herceptin treatments.

It was no picnic, but I survived...
and that's what it is all about!

So, my inspiration for this month is Pink...of course!
I used the Loving Thoughts Fri-die to make the flowers from an old dictionary page.
Leaves are stamped and die cut from the Pretty Posies collection.
Sentiments from the Calling All Sistahs stamp set.

Make sure to check out what the rest of the design team has created for your viewing pleasure at Calling All Sistahs.

And do come back tomorrow for the
  Calling All Sistahs monthly CHALLENGE.

Because of the theme this month, I just had to do Red, White and Blue.

Pretty patriotic papers were found on the big World Wide Web.

A tiny zig zag of sewing across the top and a few Crystal Drops finish this card.

Please join my over at Words 2 Craft By for this months challenge and see what the rest of the team has created to jump start your crafting mojo.
