Operation Write Home – Zig Zag #1

Operation Write Home is having a fun

at their blog this weekend. The first challenge was to use Zig Zags.

The challenge to myself this weekend is to use up things that are sitting on my craft table. Papers I stamped but not happy with, embellies I made but were maybe the wrong color or size for the project I was working on…you get the idea, because you have a pile of these sort of things on your table also.

Onto my card….

Inked up background stamp with every green color Memento makes and stamped. Sentiment was die cut and then inked, attached to a scrap of Vellum. All pearls started out white, then colored with Copic markers to match. Attached the panel to Dark Green card stock.
Easy Peasy…done!

Hello scrappy friends…. bringing you a sweet card that is appropriate for any woman. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and what friend, sister, mother, grandmother wouldn't love receiving this card in the mail????

Before we start the card tutorial, I just want to say thanks to Scor-Pal and the rest of the Design team for giving me the opportunity to work with you.

OK…

Let’s Make a Card…..

Supplies needed

1) Cut a card base from heavy weight card stock (I use watercolor paper) sized 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Ink around edges of left half of card base.

Score lines & Scor-Bug bumps

2) Cut white card stock just a bit smaller than base. Score @ 1/2 inch marks, then use Scor-Bug every 1/2 inch in between score lines. Ink right side of this section. Attach hot pink ribbon down the center and attach this section to base card with ScorTape.

3) Stamp image and heat with clear embossing powder. Color with Copic markers and fussy cut. Add White Enamel Accents and Glossy Accents as desired. Attach to card front with foam adhesive.

4) Make accordion rosette by cutting 1/2 inch strip of white card stock. Stamp strip with sentiment and ink. With Scor-Pal, score strip every 1/2 inch, fold back and forth, glue ends together, squish together and glue a scrap of heavy card stock to back of rosette, let dry, then add a faux pearl to center. Attach rosette to hot pink ribbon as shown.

5) Make banner with Cricut or Silhouette (or the old fashioned way of using scissors). Stamp and heat emboss sentiment on banner, then ink the left side. Attach to card base with foam adhesive.

Birds of a Feather…

paper smooch 4

Hello scrappy friends…I guess I have fallen in love with this little bird from Paper Smooches, as I have another card for you.

Though the picture looks like blue paper, it is actually teal…which leads me to telling you that my new favorite Memento ink is Teal Zeal…LOVE!!!

Whimsical bird was turned to grayscale and pasted several times on card stock forming a background. Teal Zeal ink (you know, the one I love so much) was inked around the edges of this section, then cut into a point at one end. I attached this section to lime green card stock, and then attached all this to the base card of …you guessed it Teal card stock.

I wrapped the dotted ribbon about halfway across the card. Sentiment is computer generated, inked and attached to card base with foam adhesive. Cute birdie digi was colored with Copics, glossy accents on his eyes and attached to card with foam adhesive. Twine was then tied into a bow around his feathers.
A little white stitching with a gel pen and waalaa…done!

Hello fellow scrappers. Today I have a fun card for someone who is under the weather. Super simple to make and your recipient is sure to get a chuckle from your creativeness.

Let’s Make a Card…

Cut a base card 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Ink all around the edges.
Mask off about 1” by 3 1/2” section in the center of the card and ink this area forming a solid wide stripe. Cut patterned paper just a bit smaller, cutting one end as a banner. Attach to card base as shown.

Die cut border and scalloped circle, ink both and stamp sentiment. Attach sentiment with foam adhesive, and attach border near bottom of card.

On inside of card, ink edges as shown. Stamp sentiment.

thinking inside2

Cut a rectangle measuring 3 3/4 x 7 1/4. Score lines at 2”, 3 1/2”, 5 1/2”, and 7”. Crease at folds so you have a “box”. Cover top and front side of box with patterned paper. Die cut opening for “box” top.

At the base card crease, attach backside and bottom of “box”. Insert a one ply tissue.
