World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day!

We have a day to celebrate everything else, why not card making?!?

I am so glad you have joined me today. If you are here from the Operation Write Home Blog Hop...WELCOME!
If you have arrived here by some other means, you really need to check out what all my friends at OWH have created for this special day. Chances are, you also are a card maker...what do you do with YOUR cards? I hope you will consider sending your creations to Operation Write Home. These cards are sent to our deployed heroes to use with their family and friends while they are away serving our country.
I like to think of it as... Paying it Forward.

For my creation, I used Sketch # 159 at OWH

The base of the card is pattern paper, then attached a shortened panel of white card stock, with a strip of pattern paper at the bottom.
That is real cork you see on this card. I die cut the cork with the word "thanks", then inked a "page" I cut with my Silhouette and stamped the rest of the sentiment.
Push pin was also cut with Silhouette and popped up with foam adhesive.

This card would also work as an AnyHero card....hmmm, I think that is what I will do with this one.

Of course, before I send this off to OWH I will have to enter it into the challenge over at Reverse Confetti and the Cork challenge at MoxieFabWorld.

Let's go Shopping:
Pattern Paper: Oxford Lane (My Mind's Eye)
Cork Sheets (DCWV)
Stamp: Count your Rainbows (Reverse Confetti)
Die: Typewriter Alpha Set (Memory Box)
Versafine Deep Lagoon Ink (Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko)
Brushed Pewter Stain (Ranger)
Red Copic Marker (Imagination International)

Now go, leave me some love and then get hopping again.....

Each Friday I will give a shout out to all new Followers (click on Follower Button on the right side) and if you have a blog, I will make a link to you also.
Thanks for stamping by, and an extra special {mwah} for leaving a comment and/or following my blog....

This is really cool Penny! I'm not sure what I like better the die-cut cork or the push pin but all the pieces together give the card such fantastic dimension. I like your thinking about OWH being a way to 'Pay It Forward' too.
