Mr. & Mrs.

Hi my scrappy friends,  today and I am thinking a lot of you (just like me) will be in need of a wedding card with June just around the corner. This unique easel card has a “twist” and I just know the lucky bride and groom receiving it, will think it and YOU are extra special.

Let’s Make A Card…..
For this project I used Cricut cartridge Sweethearts. I cut the “Mr. & Mrs.” from silver metallic paper with a black Metallic shadow. Same papers were used for the “Wedding rings”. I also painted the rings with Liquid Pearls.

You will want to start with a very heavy card stock for your base as this helps the card stand up straight and tall without wanting to curve or curl. I use watercolor paper for most of my card bases. Cut your base 10 x 5 inches. Score at 5” and then score one side diagonally from corner to corner.

Cut 1 black 5” square, and a piece of patterned paper just a bit smaller. Glue together. Tie ribbon around this section and attach your “Mr. & Mrs.” embellishment with foam adhesive. Die cut Flourish, apply Glossy Accents to front for a shiny finish. Attach to card front as pictured (for small embellishments I use the Xyron Create A Sticker). Attach tiny heart you have punched and painted with Glossy Accents to embellishment. Add faux stitching around the flourish. Now attach all of this to your diagonal (only) base card.

TIP: Stand base card up as if it were finished so you will know exactly which direction to attach the top piece to the base.

For the inside of the card you will want to cut one square each of silver, black and patterned paper each a little bit smaller than the last so you end up with a beautiful mat for the inside section of the card. Stand the front of the card up as desired and attach the “Wedding rings” so it acts as a holder for the top portion of the card. As pictured the bottom of the wedding ring is glued to the base card and the top of the rings have a foam square so the embellishment is slightly lifted at the top.

Attach the Flourish in the same manner as the front of the card and add Liquid Pearls and Goosebumps as desired.

This card folds flat for mailing, but because of the square dimension, it will need extra postage.
