Happy Retirement Butch !!!

YIPPEE!!!!!

Today is my hubby's retirement.
Thirty-five plus years as a Police Officer/K9 Officer/Sergeant.

We were practically babies when he started his career and the day has finally arrived where he gets to hang up his gun and badge, and RELAX!

A fun luncheon is planned at the Police Department, then drinks with friends and co-workers tonight!

Goodbye Tension
Hello Pension

The husband of a card maker friend designed the picture above (Gary Yost Images), I just had it printed a few times so I could give some dimension to the name plate and whistle, then make it into a card.
Many thanks to Gary Yost for working with this crazy lady!

Wanting to do something special for my man, I decided I would "lift" a few things from his locker and desk at work.
(Apologies to the City of  Largo if he was supposed to turn these things in)

I stopped in every antique store in central Florida and finally found a piece of furniture worthy of my eclectic decor.

Is this a gorgeous Side by Side, or what?!?
Last built in the 1920's, it cleaned up so nicely and was just perfect for what I had pictured in my head.

Most of a uniform, boots, radio, things that mean something to him/us.
And how about that Mobile Phone at the top right?
Bet you haven't seen one of those in awhile...or ever.

And to top it off...the whole thing locks with the original skeleton key.
LOVE !!!

And his reaction.......Priceless!

Happy Retirement Butchie...
Love you more!

Thanks so much for stopping by today...

a CASE of Shari Carroll

Hello, hello....

So a few weeks ago I am watching a video by Shari Carroll for Simon Says Stamp.
She is creating a home decor item that is right up my alley.

Yep, I just had to CASE her project:

Now granted, her project is smaller and the colors are softer, but how fun that she and I have the same color scheme in our homes!?!

I used an 11 x 14 canvas.
Mixed Teal and White paints to match my Audrey Blue card stock flower.
I also added some Teal paint to Whipped Spackle to do a little stenciling.
Dark and Light Gray card stocks for the smaller flowers.
Vellum for the flowers on the paintbrush.

eBrushed the butterfly with Copic markers and added some beads to hat pins for her antenna.

Silver glitter and Micro beads were added around the flowers, just as Shari showed in the video.

"happiness" was cut with Silhouette Cameo, as was the paisley I used for a stencil.
Bottom right has been stamped with Delicata Shimmery Silver ink...LOVE!

My husband and I love to repurpose things.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, but we enjoy it. What you are looking at is a spring from a baby crib.
Spray painted white, hung on wall, then I can change items I hang on it anytime I want.

Mason jars with a sprig of wildflowers (thinking I should paint the other two jars).
A picture of my family
&
My new Shari Carroll project.

I know that imitation is a form of flattery...
Hope Shari likes it.

Circles & Friends

Hidey ho....

So happy I am able to play in the Pin-Sight Challenge at Ellen Hutson.

Such a gorgeous collage of inspiration to choose from this month:

I chose to go with the color combo. Love the yummy greens, black and gold together.
Of course my photography skills are lacking, so my green actually looks blue...oops!

I stamped the Bokeh Dots as a background with VersaMark ink, then heat set with Gold embossing powder.
A couple of mats from the color combo and the cutest butterfly couple die cut from Metallic Gold cardstock.

Of all the stamps in the Ellen Hutson line, Amazing Women is my most favorite.
Love, love, love!!!!

April Showers with Joy Clair

hi.....

The new April Showers stamp set comes with pretty blooms and this ever so cute umbrella.

Must be honest and tell you how much I love this color combo. :)

The two Aqua areas of the umbrella were fussy cut and adhered to the card.
Scalloped punch was used to let the sentiment show through.

Hoping you enjoyed a little sample of all the new stamp sets from Joy Clair.
Everything is in the shop, so check it out here.

Holy Cow...this card qualifies for the challenge at CASology this week.
YAYNESS!!!!!!!!

Bouquet for a Pretty Daughter

Hello....

If you have visited here lately, you know I have been extremely busy with DT work for Joy Clair, Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft, Memory Box and doing a Guest stint at Penny Black.
Whew......

I finally get to play in a couple of challenges...
woo to the hoo!

So my Daughter in Love is having a birthday soon and since my hubby and I will be away skiing in beautiful Breckenridge Colorado, I needed to make something a little early.

She really does color our world. She is the most beautiful woman inside and out. She blessed us with two beautiful grandsons and she truly is the best mother I know. Love her!!!

What would make a better bouquet than flowers and paintbrushes...
Nothing that I know of!

Letter to God with Joy Clair

Hello....

In the new stamp set Letter to God by Joy Clair, there are so many single words...you really could write a letter.

I love how the cross was intentionally made small, so I used it as a capital letter.

An ombre of blue inks along with a Navy blue border makes this a very simple card to recreate.
Love, love, love to use the Scor-Pal for embossing lines.

One more new stamp set tomorrow...so come on back!
