Magenta Birthday

Hey....

A friend of mine has a daughter having a birthday on Christmas eve.
She asked me to make a card for her, but no Christmas on the card.
So the card front has no Christmas images, but I couldn't resist adding a little holiday to the sentiment.

Top sentiment is stamped, bottom half is heat foiled.
The bottom butterfly is heat foiled also with the young ladies name.
The rest of the card was eBrushed with Copic markers.

Penny Black:  Sentimental stamp set
Darice:  Butterfly Swirls embossing folder
Memory Box:  Vivienne Butterfly, Isabella Butterfly dies
Imagine Crafts featuring Tsukineko:  Memento Rose Bud ink
Copic:  RV02, RV04, RV66
Craftwell:  eBrush & eBosser
May Arts:  Magenta twine
Laminator and heat foil

Breast Cancer Awareness at Words 2 Scrap By

Happy October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I am very excited to be hosting the challenge blog Words 2 Scrap By this month as it deals with Breast Cancer which most of you know I endured last year.
I passed my one year anniversary as a Survivor and there is no better feeling!!!

Have you heard the song "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten?
You can bet it is the theme song of each and every person dealing with Breast Cancer:

This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I'm alright song
My powers turned on
Starting right now I'll be strong
I'll play my fight song
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me.

Breast Cancer can happen in to anyone...there does not need to be a history of it in your family.
1 in 8 women (and a few unfortunate men) will develop Breast Cancer.
SCARY!!!!

So we at Words 2 Scrap By want to get the word out there in a fun way, by having a Breast Cancer Awareness theme this month.

Come on over to the challenge blog to see what we gals have created for you:

We also hope you play along...prizes are involved.

Make a card, play along for your chance to win. Then if you don't personally know someone with Breast Cancer, take your card to your local Oncology center and ask that the card go to their newest Breast Cancer patient.
She/he will love it and you will feel good about making someones day!

Popped into my Life

Hello...

"Popping" in today to play in a couple of challenges.

CASology is looking for a project with POP:

Who doesn't love popcorn?!?
Because I needed to simplify this card for the CASology challenge, I actually made two cards.

I am also entering this at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (even though there is not a Simon product to be found on this card...say what?) They are looking for a Summer card.

Card was completely made with Silhouette Cameo.
Panels were stamped and deciding they were too bright, I toned down the ink with gesso.
After embossing the tickets, I ran an ink pad across the top to highlight.
Sentiment is computer generated.

More Clean & Simple card

Not so simple card
How did I achieve that great popcorn you ask?  Imagine Crafts has a wonderful product called Amplify!. It comes in all the neon colors as well as black and white.
Using the yellow and white Amplify! I just squirted small dots of each and then watch the magic begin when you use a heat gun over it.
It really is like watching corn POP.

Challenges Entered:
CASology  -  POP

Let's go Shopping:
Silhouette Cameo & Popcorn file
Penny Black:  Letter background stamp
Imagine Crafts featuring Tsukineko:  Memento Love Letter ink, White & Yellow Amplify!
Darice:  Movie theme embossing folder
Sequins

Thanks so much for stamping popping by.....

Retirement & Welcome newbies

Howdy do.....

I have been commissioned to make some cards for a company that sells to police officers/firefighters/emt. Yay me!!!

Today I have a fun retirement card for someone who is completing their tour at the Sheriff's Department.

I originally made the card with a bus cap hanging off the sentiment. After showing it to my police sergeant husband, he informed me the hat was all wrong for that kind of law enforcement ...who knew?!?
So I googled it like any respectable investigator would do, and it turns out he is right...I hate that!

In making the card I die cut the "happy" 3 times, stacked and adhered together, then eBrushed with Copic markers.
Hat was die cut with Silhouette Cameo, colored and coated with Pico Shimmer.

I fashioned my card after this spectacular creation loving the large sentiment
across the middle and the ribbon hanging down.
Challenges Entered:
Winnie & Walter  -  ReRun

Let's go Shopping:
Winnie & Walter:  In a Word Trio die cut
Darice:  Diamond Plate embossing folder
Craftwell:  eBrush
Imagine Crafts featuring Tsukineko:  irRESISTible Pico Shimmer, VersaMark ink, White embossing powder
Copic markers
Silhouette Cameo & hat cut file
Tiny handcuffs

Thanks

Hidey ho....

Playing along at Paper Smooches, yet this card will then go to a special someone who supported me in the Relay for Life walk that I took a couple of weeks ago.

It's Anything Goes at Paper Smooches this week...YAY!

I love this embossing folder by Darice. It is not just specific to Breast Cancer, so you could decorate it in any color or style according to your recipient.

I stamped the butterfly in Memento Angel Pink, then using a stencil I eBrushed it with a Copic marker. Butterfly was spritzed with Sheer Shimmer Sparkle and ribbon was tucked behind it.
Using the Misti made it super easy to stamp this sentiment with two different stamps.

Challenges Entered:
Paper Smooches  -  Anything Goes

Let's go Shopping:
Paper Smooches:  Graceful Beauties, Hope stamp sets
Penny Black:  Hot Rod stamp set
Darice:  Awareness Ribbon folder
Imagine Crafts featuring Tsukineko:  Memento Angel Pink, Radiant Neon Coral ink pads, Sheer Shimmer Sparkle
Craftwell:  eBrush
Copic marker: RV21
Ribbon
Faux Pearls
Misti

Be Strong

Woo-Hoo...
this card is on the SPOTTED feature at

Hi.....

Is this tooooo stinkin' cute?!?

Adorable stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. When I saw it released a couple of weeks ago, I immediately thought...No! The word Work Out is just cruel and my old body before its time (it really is the meds I have to take), doesn't get much exercise beyond walking the treadmill.
However..... I loved the image of the girl with dumb bells and the sentiments were quite cute and most of them would be appropriate for Breast Cancer Encouragement cards, which I make and give to women at Club Chemo  (ok, ok, it's the Oncology center but Club Chemo sounds more fun).

I stamped the boxing gloves, used Pixscan in my Silhouette software and made die cuts out of them. In love with my Pixscan...you can take any stamp, make a cut file and size it however you like.
Used a little Hope for the embossing and the Silhouette for that tiny 1/4 inch awareness ribbon on her headband.

Just as a service announcement:  Have you done your self breast exam lately?
No....while you are in the shower tonight think of me and this card, do the exam...it might just save your life!

Challenges Entered:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday  -  Things that Fly (since I added the boxing gloves, I consider that fists can fly while fighting)...hehehe!

Now...Let's go Shopping:

Simon Says Stamp:  Work Out stamp set
Paper Smooches: Hope stamp set
Darice: Hope embossing folder
Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko:  Versafine Onyx Black ink, irRESISTible Pico Shimmer
Copic markers
Ribbon
Silhouette Cameo
Craftwell:  eBosser

Let's go Shopping:

Fancy Butterfly

Woohoo for the weekend.....

I don't normally like to welcome newbies to the blog on Fridays by using a Sympathy card, but it could not be helped...I just had to show off this gorgeous butterfly!

The butterfly was cut with my Silhouette Cameo and acrylic card stock (is that what you call it?)
